Common questions
What does an ADU cost to build?
We confirm price after a site evaluation, because tree removal, landscape patching and utility hookups vary from lot to lot. The configurator gives you an all-in starting number.
How long do permits take?
From a few weeks to about 3 months, depending on the city. Construction takes about 5 to 6 months after that.
What does pre-approved mean?
Our pre-approved plans, which we call Streamlined ADUs, have already been through plan check with the city. That cuts the time and hassle of getting permits, and sometimes city fees too. Streamlined plans are available in San Jose, Napa and Sonoma Counties, Davis and Bakersfield. Ask us if your city has been added.
What if I already have a builder?
We'll help you get the building permits, but we build every A Mayberry ADU ourselves. That's how we keep the quality consistent and stand behind it with our warranty after construction.
